Hi I'm Barbara!
I'm entered highschool September 2007. I'm planning my own Quinceanera Celebration. I find being this age tough at times when it comes to my friends. I will write about topics that come up in my life every day. I bet you are also experiencing the same things. Do have questions about your friends? Would you like to discuss how to handle embarrassing moments? The challenges of being a teen? Leave your comments on my blog: or email you questions and comments to me at: Barbara@quinceaneraconnection.com. I would love to hear from you. Your comments and questions remain confidential. We will always protect your privacy.
Hi I'm Ilene!
I'm planning on having my quinceanera next year. I just graduated from middle school in June 2007. I entered high school now the fall of 2007. High School is so different than middle school. The teachers seem not to care about you and they give you so much homework. I worry, whether I'll be able to have enough time to complete my assignment on time and get a good grade. I'm writing my blog about the different challenges I deal with 24/7. Do you ask yourself the same questions over again? Do you stay up nights thinking about them? If so either write your comments on my blog or email me at: barbara@quinceaneraconnection.com - I would like to get your questions and let's get you the answers. You'll sleep better. :0) Your privacy is always protected.
Hi I'm Michelle!
I just graduated from Middle School in June 2007. Even thouugh I have been looking forward to attending high school, but it has been more challenging than I expected. Between the never ending homework, my friends changing and my parents still trying to treat me like the little kid I was when I was eight years old. High School is overwhelming. I'm bilingual and have been on the first honor roll through out Middle School. I am happy to report that I am also getting mostly A's in high school also. Send me your questions about school, preparing for high school, planning for life after graduation, etc. If I can't answer your questions, I will ask an expert.
Hi I'm Priscilla!
I wrote the book, "Quinceanera Connection: Your Dream Celebration On Any Budget'. I believed there was a need to share with parents and Quinceanera the: Hispanic traditional right of passage is a very important part of a Latina girls life. But, the Hollywood and MTV has influened too many families regarding the Quinceanera celebration. Too many families have been influenced by having over the top extravaganzas after being influenced by the MTV shows. Unfortunetly they have missed the beautiful Latina message of what the Quinceanera tradition is all about. Not only are families going into debt, but the Quinceanera hasn't taken the time to look at her right of passage from a little girl to a young woman should mean to her.
It's the time for her to look ahead and start planning her own life. Her own future. The right of passage is the time in her life when she is now more responsible for making her own choices. The 'Girl Talk' section in the book, offers life stories from other teens, adults, mentors, career coach and a female doctor on how to make the right choices for a better quality life with a purpose.
My background helped me with the writing of the book. I'm a life coach and a person who has succcessfully co ordinated numerous celebrations from parties of twenty five people to major everts with over 600 people. From back yard parties to the most elegant events honoring billionaires. I hosted these successful parties and events for myself and as an volunteer. However, I always used the same formula. The formula includes having a good working plan. After I work out a preliminary plan. I then re evaluate the plan. Making sure even the smallest details are included. A major focus is always on the budget and what I want the guests to experience at the party/celebration.
A successful party and or event is usually rated by whether everyone had a good time and walked away with great memories of their experience. Plus the party/event was within budget and there were no major mishapes. Every celebration can be a success with beautiful memories lasting a life time without going into debt.
